K-5 PE Standards

Below are the Health & Physical Education Standards we guide our lessons by as defined by the SHAPE of America Standards.  You may click each grade level icon below to get a full view of the standards and learning targets for your child's specific grade-level.  Typically we teach lessons and games in grade-level bands such as K-2 and 3-5, in which the games and lessons are similar within that grade-level band, but as they advance in grade, we add different age-appropriate challenges and skill-progressions, as well as knowledge and vocabulary needed for that unit or skill.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is where the foundation takes place.

First-Grade

In first-grade, students build on the foundational skills learned in K, and begin to learn how to discover their own abilities

Second-Grade

In second-grade, students begin to apply those foundational skills to gameplay.

Third-Grade

In third-grade, skills are now beginning to be applied to tactical game situations.

Fourth-Grade

In Fourth-grade, students dig deeper into the tactical application of skills.

Fifth-Grade

In fifth-grade, we apply all skills and tactics learned to this point into more complex situations.
