Below is what the OH1 monitor looks like:

Students will be able to see their heart rates in real time, and will earn badges based off of their activity levels and heart rate zones (we will discuss the heart rate zones with the students prior to the first time using the monitors so they know where they stand).

Below is another picture that will better detail the different heart rate zones:

How to access student data:

Step 1:  Go to https://polargofit.com/index.ftl

Step 2:  Login with STUDENT USERNAME & PASSWORD given to them in PE.  If you lose your login information, please contact Coach Bennett or Coach Crenshaw to get that information again.

Step 3:  Click the class you need to access.  In the picture below you will see 2 classes.  Each student will have 2 classes listed since they come to PE twice within a 6-day rotation.  Please make sure you choose the correct day.  Here is what it will look like:

As you can see, there are 2 days here, Day 1 & Day 3.  To view the data from the day you want, just click "View Charts" to open your data page.

This is the next page you will see.  The data for your child will be displayed in the chart and you will be able to also see a more detailed breakdown of how they did that day throughout the class.

For students in grades 3-5, they will be using the Polar Heart Rate monitors fairly often in PE to help them understand how different activities affect their heart rates.  Starting in 3rd-grade, students begin to explore ways to track and calculate their own heart rates, and they begin to understand how different activities affect it, and why it is so important in their own personal fitness.

How to use them:

The Polar Heart Rate monitors are worn on the students forearms.  During class, we project all of the students activity onto the gym wall like this (minus the help tips):
